Tate turned three years old a week or so ago. I can't believe how big he is getting. He's grown up so much in the last year its crazy. He is such a sweet little boy and we love him so much. You can usually find Tate playing with his airplanes or buzz light years, or just pretending to fly around the room. He pretty much thinks he is Buzz. I don't think he thinks about anything else besides his airplanes and buzz's. The other day I caught him talking to his airplane he said.."airplane you're my best friend." Don't think he doesn't have friends because he has plenty who he loves, but his airplane are obviously top priority.

Tate LOVES the color yellow! I asked what kind of cake he wanted and he said "a yellow cake" so that's what I made a yellow cake with another of his favorite, yellow M&M's.

The day before Tate's birthday we were talking about what we should do that day and he said he wanted his friends over! So we had a little spur of the moment party.

One of his presents we got him was this tee ball set. Its pretty cool because you can also put the stand down and then push the button and it will pop up the balls for him to hit. He loves it! (Also a benefit for me because he can do it all by himself)

We ended the day at the park trying out his tee ball set and also the kids favorite, the swings! They were flying in this picture. Love these cuties :)

Last Saturday my brother, his fiance, and my sister came up from Provo to celebrate my birthday with us. It was such a fun day. This was probably the first year since I've been married that I've waited to open my presents on my actual birthday. Tygh blames me that I'm to excited but really he's just as excited as I am and plays a big part of it to. But what can I say he's a good gift giver! This year he got me new Oakley sunglasses because mine were so scratched and the lenses to replace them are discontinued. Then a pair of shorts and a Human Rubber Band..More to come on that later.

To start the day we went and got some subway then headed out to the lake. We picked a new spot that as we drove up to I wasn't to sure it was going to be that great of a spot but it turned out to be perfect. We enjoyed our lunch then did some swimming and rock jumping. The rock jumping was definitely the highlight especially for the boys. They probably could have stayed all day. After the lake we headed home had some pizza for dinner then went the park to try out the Human Rubber Band! Such a fun game...Ill post a video on that later.

We then had my favorite and birthday tradition FUN FETTI cake! Tygh made it and it was delicious!!

Visit to Idaho and camping

This past weekend we went up to Idaho to spend time with Tygh's sister and her family. Her little girl Allie got Baptized on Saturday so we wanted to be there for that. We had so much fun playing and hanging out with them. We don't get to see them as often as we'd like so it was good to catch up. Tate loved playing with his older cousins!

On Sunday we left took the scenic route back to Wyoming and stopped in Jackson to eat lunch and also at the Fish Hatchery. I remember going to the fish hatchery when I was little and it has definitely gone down hill. All the fish are under covered tents so there's really nothing to see. Tate was excited to see the fishies, so it was kinda sad when all we got to see were little babies.

We stopped and camped for a night somewhere between Jackson and Pinedale. I can't remember the name of the place but it was really pretty. There was a little river right next to camp site that the kids liked to play in but it was really really cold. I couldn't keep my feet in for more than a couple minutes but it didn't phase Tate, he didn't care at all.

This was the sky Monday morning, the picture doesn't really do it justice it was so cool.

Tate enjoying a piece of cheese while his breakfast was cooking. He loved camping and still talks about it everyday that we need to go camping again. I only got one picture of Bailey that turned out really blurry but she enjoyed camping also. It was a great weekend!

My BOB

We recently purchased a BOB double stroller and I have to say it's been one of my favorite purchases. It's been so nice to get my run done first thing in the morning, then Tygh has more time in the evenings to do his work out to. I was a little skeptical about running with a double stroller with two kids strapped in, but it's been so awesome. This thing is so light, pretty much moves itself, and I love it. It's almost exciting to take it for a run. The best part about it is that the kids love it, rocks them right to sleep...seriously...everytime..an hour after they've woken up in the morning..

Now they just need to make a big enough stroller for me to sit and sleep in while Tygh runs lol...
It really must be extremely cozy in there.. I really don't understand how they fall back asleep first thing in the morning. Actually I know I could, but these kids are full of energy..

Girl Time...

Bailey and I have been having some quality time together while Tate naps since she has been taking very short afternoon naps like 15 minutes..I think she's progressing on to just one nap a day now. The other day we decided to paint toe nails, she however didn't appreciate it as much as I did, but it was still fun..

Her favorite part was pulling all the cotton balls out and throwing them.

Bailey picked blue, and was very interested for the first two toes I painted then wanted to be done (as expected for a one year old I guess)lol... Looking forward to the years to come when she actually wants me to paint her toenails. As for now we'll stick to playing baby dolls.

This weekend we decided to do some work on our backward. It was actually a lot of fun and the whole family helped out. Tate loved helping and digging and hammering. Here's some pictures of what we did..Before..

After.. The little plants look kinda funny right now but eventually will grow to be a ground cover. We'll probably add some plants and more rock and then it'll look really great. So much better than just dirt.

Then we decided to go play and cool off at the splash park. It was a great way to end the day and wear the kids out even more.

If you guessed the white bear then yep your right. I thought I'd do a post on Tate's most favorite thing ever (other than m&m's and the color yellow) its his bear. Of course out of all the stuffed animals he could get attached to it had to be white. This bear gets washed almost everyday and I have to usualy sneak it away because he gets so upset when he has to get washed. I try to tell him he's just taking a bath but nothing works, a couple times I've had to pull him out soaking wet because he was going to throw up he was crying so hard.. That's just how attached he is.

He's had it since he was about 7 months old is when I can remember it first. Tygh named him Snot because Tate is constantly rubbing his face all over him and when he has a runny nose he rubs his snot on him lol yes gross...but Tate only calls him Bear. When he was still in his high chair he wouldn't eat unless his bear was sitting right there next to him, when he gets hurt he wants his bear, when he gets tired, his bear, and lately when we ride in the car his bear has to be buckled in to. It's pretty much his best friend. Its pretty cute how much he loves it...If we ever loose this bear it might be the end of the world for Tate. It's pretty special to him..

Finally we've been getting some warm days to be able to play outside. All I have to say is it's about time... Bailey will stand at the door and bang on it to go outside, or sit on the couch and look out the window, she loves it outside. Here's some pictures of the fun....

We hiked (more like a 10 minute walk) up to this little water fall with our friends the Blakes.... it was perfect weather and the kids loved it.

Bailey loves water and has absolutely no fear..Tate will put his hands or feet in here or there and Bailey just goes for it. She ends up soaking wet and cold but has a blast!

On May 23rd Bailey turned one. I still can't believe she is a year old already. This little girl is so much fun. She loves her big brother, even though he pushes her all over the place, and just loves life. We didn't do much for her birthday, just stayed home and our friends the Blakes came over to watch Bailey dig into her cake. Here are a few pictures from the big day....

Our Easter was spent a little un-traditionally this year. Tygh was invited to go on an overnight hike down in St. George Easter weekend. We decided to make it a little get-away and head over to Vegas while we were there. It was a fun and exhausting long weekend. On Saturday evening after Tygh got back from the hike we headed to Las Vegas. We spent the evening swimming at the pool in the nice warm weather and ordering in to our hotel room. It was a nice relaxing night. The next day we went to breakfast at a place we had seen awhile back on the food network that looked like it had amazing breakfasts. I always order my normal breakfast when I go out, but Tygh tried something new and he said it was AMAZING. Next we met up with our friends the Blake's and did some outlet mall shopping..(however this didn't last to long because it was definitely nap time for my kids. They got a little nap as we headed over to the M&M factory which Tate was the most excited for (and to this day still talks about it). He loved it and got a yellow M&M shirt and of course a bag of M&M'S.

We came home and the Easter Bunny hadn't forgotten about the kids. I did color themed baskets this year. Tate loves Yellow so everything was yellow and I chose pink for Bailey.

Random thoughts about running...

The past few months I have been training for the Salt Lake City Capitol Half Marathon. I've done two others before but that was back before I had kids and had all the time in the world to run. It's been a little more difficult this time around trying to find the time and getting all my runs in. Good thing I have an amazing husband who is willing to watch the kids while I leave to run. Will I be ready to run 13.1 miles on May 31st? Well I ask myself this question just about everyday... On my good run days I think ya for sure..but on my bad run days I think there is no way! So lets just hope this race falls on one of my good run days.

As I think back to my two previous races I remember finishing them and each one I told myself.."Never again.." Well here I am again. I have one person to thank for this, my good friend Shellie. She loves to run as well and when we first met we talked a lot about running and races we've done. I told her I've done a couple in the past and the next thing I knew I was signed up again. Yes I do love to run, I am pretty good at it I guess...but 13.1 miles is long. So why am I doing it again? I've tried to figure this question out and the best reason I came up with is because I can. I am physically capable of running 13.1 miles so why not? There are so many people who can't run because of physical illnesses or whatever it might be. I feel so blessed to be able to just go run, and not have anything hold me back.

What I have come to realize during the course of this training and running in the crazy Wyoming wind and cold is that if you set your mind to it you can do it. That's why I love the quote I posted at the very beginning. The mind is such a powerful tool and when used properly so much good can come. There's been many of days when I'm tired and don't feel like pushing myself to the end. I like to think about the little fish Dori from Finding Nemo, she says it best.."Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.." I re-phrase it to "just keep running" (ya pretty nerdy I know) if I keep telling myself this and know that I can do it, then I can. There's nothing we can't do if we really set our mind to it.

So for now I will say thank you to my friends Shellie who has gotten me back into running. At mile 12 in my race I may have other words to say. But for now I am totally enjoying myself. I feel great and even though it's still hard to make myself get out the door for my run I love every minute of it when I do.

Tate loves the color yellow. If he is coloring he only colors in yellow, he will pick anything that is yellow over anything else. So I was doing a little online shopping and found a couple yellow shirts for him. The day they came he had to wear both of them on top of each other. I eventually tricked him into taking one off though. My mom sent this adorable yellow outfit for Bailey and I put it on her and of course once Tate saw she was wearing yellow he ran into his room and picked out his yellow shirt to. Such a silly kid. I tried to get a picture of them both together its to hard to get them both to smile at the same time so this was the best...

She loes this blow up chair, she'll push it all over the house crawl up it and then slide down it on her tummy and repeat over and over again.

Mmmm grapes...I'm amazed at what this girl can eat with only two teeth on the bottom.

Little Monkies

Bailey has been learning from Tate how to climb and get on top of things. Tate hasn't stopped climbing and hanging from things since he got his cast off, it's nice to see him being a little boy again. Here are some new tricks from the week...

Tate loves to hang on the counter now..Bailey will have a while until she can learn this one. But she's learned some tricks of her own...

Brother/Sister Love

Ever since Tate got his cast off he has not been able to keep his hands off Bailey. For the most part in a good way like giving her lots of hugs and kisses. Sometimes he will be playing and all of the sudden stop, go over to Bailey, give her a hug and say "I love you Bailey." Although there are plenty of times he pushes her down or throws a toy at her, but overall he is such a sweet big brother. She of course loves any attention he gives her so she just laughs. I love when they play and laugh at eachother they are just to cute.

Tate got his cast off a week from Monday. The doctor said he probably wouldn't walk on it for like a week and want to be carried because it was going to be sore and he was so used to the cast. Well not Tate! That cast came off and he was not going to miss a beat. That night he was jumping on it and crawling and he started walking the next day. He was so proud of himself and Bailey was proud of him to, it was funny because she would just watch him and laugh. Not sure if it was because he was walking funny with a limp, or she just wasn't used to seeing him walk. It only took him a couple days to start jumping off things and climbing onto everything. I'm so proud of him, he is amazing

His first bath after getting the cast off. No words to describe how excited he was. He stayed in there for so long and was in heaven for sure! Bailey loved having her brother back in the tub to play with to. They had missed eachother.

My Funny, Crazy Girl

Bailey is already 10 months and hardly ever stops going. I thought I would write down a few of her favorite things more for me to remember but also for everyone else to enjoy:

Favorite food: Mandarin Oranges, Banana, mac & cheese..(although she will eat anything she can get into her mouth)
Loves peek-a-boo
Sleeps 11-12 hrs at night...thank goodness
Always tries to sneak into the bathroom, and if I catch her she'll crawl even faster, laugh and try to get away
Loves to laugh and have Tate blow raspberries on her Tummy
Has two teeth on the bottom
Has taken four steps on her own, but prefers to still crawl
Can say "nana" (banana), "uh-ohh" "ball" "mamma" "dadda"
Loves to play with Tate on the bed, and hide under the covers and laugh together
Favorite toy is anything Tate is playing with. But if she had to play with something it would be a ball
Pushes anything that will go...here if proof....

She will push things as far as they will go until it runs into something, then get mad and tries to turn it around, if she can't she's onto something new. Love this little sweetie. She has so much personality, has a little temper if she doesn't get what she wants and is very determined. Can't imagine my day without her around!

1st Broken Bone

Here's what's been pre-occupying my time lately...

Tate broke his Femur Bone on Feb. 9th... It's been 5 weeks now and he gets it off on Monday! I know Tygh and I are excited, and Bailey to. She's been missing playing all the time with her brother. We keep telling Tate he gets his cast off in a few days and he keeps saying "I go Utah..cast off!" So I'm pretty sure he is excited to. He's so cute. He's been such a good boy through all this. The first couple weeks were tough, but my mom came out and stayed for a few weeks which was a huge lifesaver. He wanted to be carried everywhere and got pretty demanding. I think we all got some good arm and leg muscle from going up and down the stairs. He'd want to go watch a movie in the basement then 5 minutes later want to be upstairs. He's so much better now though and can roll all over, army crawl, pull himself up and stand and walk along the furniture. He thinks he's pretty cool. He calls his cast his Buzz Lightyear cast! lol.

Poor kid was so tired! It happened about 6:30pm.. didn't get any pain meds until like 9:30, finally got x-rays around 10:30 and then told us they didn't deal with kids there so they had to send us by ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Finally got in the Ambulance around 12:00, and arrived down there about 3:00 am. Such a long night. When we got to Primary's they gave Tate more pain meds to help with the muscle spasms which was the worst thing for him, and that helped him get some good rest finally. They finally casted it around 11:00 am and after that I think he felt better because it was finally immobilized.

Here he is a few minutes after waking up from the anesthesia and getting it casted. Grandma was already there and had a Buzz Lightyear shirt and books ready for him!

Super Bowl

My dads favorite football team is the Steelers, so not being huge into football myself I decided while young that would be my team since basically it was all I knew growing up. A couple years ago when the Steelers were in the Superbowl Tate was about 5 months old or so and I took one of his onesies and colored it with yellow and Black marker to make it look like a Steelers Jersey. Well this year I decided to be a little more crafty and make him not look like trailer trash. So I just put the steelers logo on the front with his name and Tygh's old football number on the back. Bailey's said Steelerette with the stars underneath it. They turned out cute and it was fun to do. Unfortunately Pittsburgh didn't put on to great of a show but we had fun!

One of my favorite things these days is watching these two play and laugh together. Tate loves to make Bailey laugh, it is the cutest thing ever. I love it when he gets her cracking up and even if he's done laughing he'll fake laugh just to keep her going. Tate likes to push Bailey down after she's pulled herself up on something. It's really not a good thing but Bailey thinks its actually funny. He doesn't do it hard, just makes her fall on her bum. I try and tell him not to but it's hard when she is laughing to.

Visit From Grandpa Hutch

Tate's Grandpa was headed through Rock Springs and stayed with us for a night. He has been working up in North Dakota so Tate doesn't get to see him as often now-a-days. It was so fun to hang out, eat some dinner, and then Tate got some play time in showing off his toys. Tate loves his Grandpa (as do we) and it was great to see him again. We miss you Grandpa Hutch!

These two are so cute together. They totally act like brother and sister, fighting over toys taunting and chasing each other. But they are fun to watch. Recently they've started getting into the tunnel together and think it's pretty funny. No injuries yet...

The big kids kept taking over Bailey's spot. She got a little mad but mostly just wanted to play right along with them.

The other day I watched Legacy for a little bit, I need to do this more often, she started cleaning the ottoman and even got Tate to do it to. She made sure to get all the crumbs off the edges!

Just like Tate Bailey will walk (along furniture) only for food. I'm not sure she knows she is walking she is pretty much just focused on the prize. She is way to small to already be doing this!

In the last month Bailey has started pulling herself up onto everything, which leads to many bumps, bruises and falls. But that doesn't stop her. I had her sleeping through the night until now instead of putting herself back to sleep when she wakes up, she thinks she needs to practice pulling up more...not good. She likes to be enterained basically all day and loves to eat. Anything that goes into her mouth she loves. This is what I find after waking up from her nap...

Tate is still such a sweetie. He loves his little sister, anything toy story and his latest favorite Finding Nemo. He is always pretending to fly, or flying his toys around. I love it when he dances with his guitar...cutest thing ever! Check it out...

Bailey wants to be big like Tate so bad. She has recently started pulling herself up and loves walking with her Dino. I usually stay right there with a hand out and have to push the Dino for her but she thinks she is so big, it's funny to watch. Tate loves to play with Bailey and is so good at taking turns with her going down the slide. He loves it and so does she. Can't believe how fast these kids are growing up.

While in California we took a trip up to Tahoe and stayed for 2 nights. We had a blast playing in the snow, making snowman and playing games. It was fun to revisit the place we would always stay as kids.

Merry Christmas

Christmas this year was so fun, Tate was now old enough to know that Santa Clause was going to bring him presents and boy did he! Lets just say he definitely did not go without this year... He had so much fun looking through his stocking, and opening everyones presents. It was fun to watch him...Bailey's favorite present was her toothbrush, which she chewed on practically all day long. Christmas with kids is for sure the best thing ever!

After a very long drive we made it to grandma and grandpas! Of course the first thing Tate wanted to do was go in the hot tub...but he had to wait until grandpa got home from work. Bailey enjoyed a little hot tub swim as well. The kids are having so much fun playing and getting lots of grandparent attention. Here are some pictures from the first couple days!

My mom and Dad took a spur of the moment trip up to Salt Lake, so of course we went down to see them and spend the weekend. We had so much fun just hanging out, shopping and eating. It went by to quick. Tate didn't understand why grandma and grandpa had to leave and was so sad saying goodbye. Good thing we'll see them again in 4 1/2 weeks!

Here is a picture of me when I was around 7 months old, and Bailey at 4.5 months....see any resemblance? I think we look exactly alike. Bailey's cheeks are a little more chubby...and you can't really see all of my face, but any of you who have seen Bailey in person what do you think?

A few weekends ago we had a birthday party for Tate. Just about all of his cousins were there and some friends from church. I don't think he knew what was going on with all the people there. He had a lot of fun though.

Rocks, Mud, Water

Tate has found his new favorite place to play. They are tearing up sections of our sidewalk where they are large cracks, and it just so happens that there was one right next to our driveway. Right now they just tore up all the cement, which means big sections of dirt. And, when our sprinklers go on it means a big section of muddy water. It has been 4 days now that it's been tore up and still not fixed, and Tate has been in heaven. We are outside most of the day already, but when we aren't all I hear is "outside, outside outside." He runs right over to the mud puddle to throw in rocks. Throwing rocks is one of his favorite things to do these days, and when there is water to throw them in it makes it even better! He gets pretty dirty, but oh well....he's only 2 once!

He grabbed all the pieces of cement he could lift and threw them back into the water. Oops

You can;'t really tell but his whole face was covered in dirt. He was definitely having a blast

I'm so behind on my posts.....I almost just didn't want to blog about what's going on latelym but then I realized that would really bug me for some weird reason, and I'd just keep thinking about it. So...here I am, playing catch up. Hopefully over the next few days I will be all caught up. At least for a week.
Anyways a few weekends ago we went to Flamming Gorge lake with our friends the Blakes. It was perfect weather and we had such a blast. They cooked us an amazing dutch oven dinner, complete with dutch oven blueberry cobbler for dessert. So very good. Tate had such a good time playing with their daughter Legacy.

Recently my dad and Tygh made a pack together that next spring/summer they would do a mini triathalon. So the competition is on. My dad sent Tygh some swimming goggles and I think Tate ma just steal them from Tygh. He wouldn't take the things off. his favorite color right now is blue, at least that's what I say because EVERYTHING is the color boo (blue in tate language). While he was wearing them he kept lifting them up a little to look out, then put them back on his face and would laugh. After he finally took them off he wanted his bear to wear them. So up until bed time his bear got to wear the blue goggles.

We haven't been to busy lately. Just been hanging out enjoying the sun for the last few weeks that we have of it. We've been doing a lot of little projects around the house and Tate loves to help his dad. Now he pretends to fix everything. He bangs on the wall with his plastic hammer, saws off his legs with his plastic saw and loves to fix his power wheels car!
Bailey is growing like a weed! She loves to smile, be held and eat. She's just figured out how to scoot like a little worm, except goes backwards. The other day Tate was in his high chair eating and Bailey was on the ground, well she must have seen something she really wanted because the next thing I knew she was over by the toys trying to grab at the Mr. Potatoe head. She is a very determined little thing and doesn't give up easily. When she wants something she wants it right then!
Tate still loves his little sister and is so sweet to her. He likes to show her off and give her lots of hugs and kisses when people are around. It's pretty cute!

Every year Tygh's family does a week long camping trip up at Jackson Hole. Maybe one year after the kids are a little more self sufficient we'll go for the whole week but for now with a 3 month old and a almost 2 year old, one night was perfect. I wasn't sure how Tate was going to handle sleeping in the tent. Our tent was a whole lot smaller than we remembered. It kept us warm though. When we first put Tate in the tent to go to sleep he was a little unsure, he kept doing his sign for "all done" lol. It didn't take him long though to cuddle up to his dad and fall asleep. The night actually went great for both kids, however it was an early morning for Tate. When he woke up at 5:30 he was really "all done" and made Tygh get out and go for a walk. It had rained on us almost all night long, so in the morning it was a little chilly, but turned out to be such a nice day. Perfect for boating. Tate loved hanging out with his cousins and being a big kid. As for Bailey she just slept and ate and was a very good girl! All in all I think it was a success.

California Vacation-Kevin comes home!

This is a little late, but oh well. We took a trip out to California a few weeks ago for the homecoming of Kevin, returning from his mission in South Africa. We had such a good time, swimming, shopping, and just hanging out in the sun. We got to spend a lot of time with my grandparents which was so fun. Tate loves them so much, especially their stairs in their house! Two little stairs...perfect for little Tate to climb up and down!
It was so good to se Kevin again. He looks exactly the same, only more grown up. We love you Kevin!

Here are just a bunch of pictures from the past couple of weeks. Bailey started smiling a couple weeks ago, and now she smiles all the time. Her two little dimples make it the cutest smile ever! Tate has grown up so much since Bailey has arrived. He seems like a whole new boy. He just seems bigger and is so much more independent. He loves his little sister and its so cute to watch him give her kisses, and be so soft with her (most of the time).

4th of July weekend

THis post is going to be a little backwards...I put the pictures in wrong and would change them all around but that takes to much time and my little ones will be awake soon. So starting with Monday July 5th...Tygh had the day off and we stayed the night in Evanston on the 4th. We were going to go out to park city and Echo lake but decided to just drive home and go to Flaming Gorge Lake instead. We ended up not getting out to the lake until the evening and right at the wrong time because that's when the wind starts blowing. We had fun though just sitting and playing in the sand. Tate liked to put his feet in the water until they got cold. It was a quick lake trip but good to get out for a while.

Now onto the Fourth of July! We headed down to Evanston to have a BBQ with Tygh's family. Unfortunately Tate and Bailey both were out before the fireworks started. Tygh and I got to kinda watch them from his parents house. I failed to get a picture of Tate in his 4th of July attire, everytime I went to take a picture something happend...But here is Bailey...

Now..July 3rd! Saturday was a nice day so we headed out to Greenriver which is about 15 minutes from us to the river, playground and little splash park. The splash park was more for bigger kids, but Tate loved the playground..(until he got knocked over by a big kid). But he loved the river even more so. He had a blast throwing rocks and looking at the little tadpoles.

Bailey is now 5 weeks old! It's funny how you forget how small they are when they're born but also how fast they grow. She has lost her newborn look and now looks like a baby. Just a few fun facts about Bailey:

Loves to snuggle-even when she sleeps she always finds someway to nuzzle her face up against something.
Hates her car seat
Lets you know when she needs to be changed
When she is mad...she is so mad, and has a very very good scream
Eats about every four hours at night and every two and a half to three during the day
Starting to smile and coo more and more
Won't take a Binki- try to put it in her mouth and she gives you a disgusted look like "what in the world are you doing!"

"The Blue Plate Special"

On Friday Tate had what they call the "Blue Plate Special" done. He had his adenoids and tonsils removed and tubes put in his ears. Friday morning we drove down to Evanston with a very hungry little boy because he couldn't eat or drink afer 5am. They took us back and we changed Tate into some HUGE scrubs/Jammie's they gave us. They gave him a mask to play with that they were going to use to put him out. He was such a good boy. They wrapped him in a warm blanket and took him off back to the operating room, and we didn't even hear a peep out of him. After about twenty minutes the Doctor came out an told us he did great and that his tonsils were a very good size and his Adenoids were huge! He had just finished an antibiotic for an ear infection that he had that wasn't going away and the Dr. told us it was still infected with a lot of pus still there. So he drained all that out and put the tubes in and now hopefully his ears won't give him anymore problems. After the surgery we spent about five hours in the hospital. Tate was able to drink and eat a little mac n cheese and a whole cup of sherbet. He was such a good boy. Then we headed back home for the recovery period!

We've pretty much lived on my bed. All he wants to do is sit and watch you tube videos. Needless to say my bed is covered in spilt juice, bread crumbs (bread is like the one thing he will eat) and lots of drool!

This is taken today (Day4) he wouldn't let me put Bailey in her swing alone..he had to be holding her. He seems to be feeling better today, still tired and hurting but has a little of himself back.
Tate right now as I post this! Poor guy has been a little trooper through all this.

Meet our new pet.....
Well...not really. We've seen this cat everynow and then hanging around our house. He is a ver prety cat with bright sky blue eyes and bengal fur print. At first he wouldn;t have anything to do with us and would run away right when he saw anyone coming. I think he is wild, because he is very skinny and kinda skiddish. Tygh thinks he belongs to someone who lives in the townhomes a few blocks away from us. Anyways though...today Tate and I saw him under the truck so we went out for Tate to get a closer look. After a little while of calling "here kitty kitty" Tate says "diddy diddy" the cat come over and started rubbing up all over against both Tate and I. Of course Tate thought that was the funniest and best thing ever! Then after that he started pretty much playing with Tate in the rocks, Tate would pick up the rocks and the kitty would go up and nudge them out of his hand with his nose. It was pretty cute. I also gave him some tuna fish and now it looks like he is not going anywhere. He sits in the sidewalk and looks through our big front window. When he sees someone coming he starts meowing like crazy. He just wants some loving! Here is Tate playing with him. (Yes Tate's diaper is on backwards and his bum is hanging out...I had to put it on backwards because he kept taking it off)!!!

A couple of weeks ago we spent the day over in Evanston for a BBQ at my in-laws. Tate always loves going to his grandma's and grandpa's because he gets to play with lots of cousins and all the animals. They hae baby chicks right now that he just loves!! Bailey May Hutchinson decided she was boss when I went into labor the day before I was scheduled to be induced. Good thing we were already down in Ogden. We got to the hospital around 7:00 pm and Bailey was born at 2:00 am. Everythings went so fast and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. She is such a little sweetie! I have to admit when I found out I was pregnant I kind of hoped a little more for another boy, just because Tate is so cute. Now that I have my little girl I couldn't imagine it any other way. There is just something so special about holding your little girl in your arms. Here are some recent pictures of Bailey at home!

Yes...this is a picture of my phone in the trash can. I just recently taught Tate how to throw away his diapers. You'd think this was a good idea, however now he thinks everything has to go in it!. Just an update on the latest progress... cement in the garage is poured, they just started the siding on the side of the house today and will finish on monday....

Hardwood floors are in, very dusty and dirty right now, cabinets are installed....countertops on monday!! The sink and dishwasher are actually going to be in the island part.

Monday will be a big day! Siding gets finished, driveway gets poured, countertops, sinks and appliances all get put in, landscaping gets started!! Tuesday is carpet and after that its all the small things!! Going so quick!! We're excited!

Fabric letters for Bailey

I recently just made our soon to be new addition Bailey some fabric letters to go up in her room. This was much cheaper than buying them from Pottery Barn or elsewhere where they're like
15$ a letter! (even though they are very cute). I got the letters from Michaels at 3$ each, then found the fabric at Walmart which was already cut and bundled together for only 8$. I already had some batting that I used behind the fabric to give it a little dimension, then mostly used hot glue to glue the fabric around to the letters. Some of them got a little tricky, but all in all they turned out pretty nice. Fun, and cheap project!

Our house is moving right along and they have given us a closing date of May 14th. Only three more weeks and we will have our very own home. It's still prety weird to think that but very exciting. It is a ranch style with a basement. The big living room area will be finished in the basement, then as time goes on we will finish the rest which is three bedrooms and one bathroom. Upstairs there is three bedrooms also and two baths. The builder puts up the fence and does the front yard landscaping so that will be very nice not to worry about. We can't wait for it to be finished and move in, then shortly after have a new baby!!
Here's a couple pictures: this first picture is a little old, it now has the roof finished, windows, and garage door are in. Siding starts this week!!

Easter at our house this year started off with some Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast, followed by an Easter Egg hunt for Tate (Which I took video of but it's saying it's to big, if anyone knows how to make videos smaller or something let me know). Tate loved finding the eggs. He definitely caught on quick on what to do. Then we headed down to Evanston for Easter dinner. We had a great dinner, and Tate loved playing with his cousin Zayden who was nice enough to share his transformers he got from the Easter bunny with him. Here are a few pictures from the day!

I have finally finished my flower ball decorations for Bailey's room. I decided to not use my first one that was hot pink in color and go with a more pastel pink instead because it will match better. Our house is underway!! This picture was taken last week, so it's a little further along now. They just finished the plumbing and all that pipe and poured the flooring. Framing starts soon. I recently saw this project on T.V. the other day and thought it was so cute and easy and something that would look great in our baby girl's future room. I just finished one ball so far and have plans to make two more to hang up next to each other. All it is is a Styrofoam ball, party streamer and some hot glue! If I can make it anyone can! lol. I hung it in our dinning room to see how is looked.

For Valentines day we got Tate a blue camo little backpack with his name embroidered on it. Tygh showed him how to stuff his bear in it, and he loves that. He kept taking it out, them pushing it back in. He looked pretty cute! It took him a minute to get balanced with it, but after he did he thought he was pretty cool.

Ok....now no laughing at this, I know this is kinda a funny picture but recently Tate has had a fascination with my belly. (He's probably wondering why it just keeps growing bigger and bigger! LOL) I really don't think he understands he's going to have a baby sister in a few more months but sometimes I think he might just a little bit. He'll walk up to me and just pull my shirt up and feel my belly and look at me funny! Its pretty cute actually. We keep telling him he's going to be a big brother and we're going to have a baby but since he doesn't talk who knows what he really understands. Oh well guess he'll figure it out in 3 1/2 more months!!

Well we haven't been up to much lately, just kinda hanging out. We've started going to story time up at the library once a week. It's been fun for Tate to have a little more time to play with other kids and interact. Before they start reading the books they have a song for the kids, where they all stand out and it goes.."shake shake shake your silly's out, shake shake shake your silly's out and wiggle and wobble away...etc. All the kids start shaking and dancing and its funny to watch Tate because he's catching on that he needs to shake his hands and bounce. This past week he stood there for a minute watching the kids, then started shaking his hands, looked at me with a big smile and bounced his legs. It'a amazing how quick they pick up on things and want to copy what everyone else is doing. He's such a funny little guy and I love his smile! They grow to fast.

Lately I've been feeling like I need some sort of hobby/interest/ just something for me to do. Now...I am not a crafty person, I like to try things, but they usually end up half done and looking...well...not very good. I've decided to try again! I was looking online at some "craft blogs" and found something I use all the time, and wanted to make some for some people also. It is a wipes case, just spruced up! Someone made me one when I was pregnant with Tate and I have used it so much and get lots of compliments on. Now that were having a girl I thought I needed one that was not so boyish! I haven't finished mine yet, but thought I'd start out just making a couple random ones. It turns out it was pretty easy. After cutting, pinning, sowing...yes I said SOWING, gluing, etc. And after only a couple hot glue burns I finished!!!! I've made two so far, one easy and one harder. Here is how they turned out!

Tate is becoming quite the dare devil these days. The other day I was vacuuming when I turned around and found Tate sitting on top of the seat of his car with his hands up in the air. He then proceeded to try and stand on the top of the seat also, but I put a stop to that. He thought he was pretty funny. Also we had him on the couch with us and he likes to run from one person to the next and fall into them, well this time he decided he wanted down and almost walked right off the edge of the couch. Luckily we saw it coming and grabbed him before he face planted. He loves trying to climb things, up onto chairs, up the stairs (which he has mastered) and anything else he is trying to reach for. This is such a fun age, but definatelty a busy one!

Recently Tate has become a different little boy. Now that he can walk he is so much more happy! He loves just wondering all over the house, and likes to play by himself now too...yay! He is always smiling when he walks. One of his favorite things right now is playing on the couch. He loves to walk all over it (I watch him close)-For Christmas he got a power wheels car. We've just been using it inside until just the other day we ventured out into the cold, and took him outside, of course he loved it, because he loves anything outside! Here are a few other things he loves these days:
-reading books- he'll bring a book over for me to read to him, then if I'm not doing a good job he takes it away turns his back to me and does it himself. Lol
-Cheese- anything with cheese on it he loves, macaroni and cheese, plain cheese, rice & cheese, beans and cheese etc. its definately his favorite food.
-His bear- He still sleeps with his white bear, nothing can replace (why does it have to be white!)
-Animals- Loves, loves, loves animals. We have animal pictures on his walls and everytime he wakes up from a nap or we go into his room, they're the first thing he points too! He also just learned how to make a fishy face.
-Singing songs, well us singing songs to him. His favorites are probably mat-a-cake, and head shoulders knees and toes, mostly because he can do the motions to them.
-Points to most of his body parts when you ask him.. toes, head, bellybutton, ears mouth etc. (it's prety cute)

Christmas came in went so fast this year. We were out in California and had such a great time. Tate became quite the Hot Tubber with Daddy and also the little walker. He has finally found his footing and he is off! We spent a lot of time shopping, playing at the park, going to the zoo, and just enjoying the time together as family. My little 4 pound baby is getting so big. He is almost walking. He walks from furniture to furniture and when you tell him to come to you he'll walk quite a ways. Still working on the stop and go part. He can crawl now, and knows that works better than walking when someone is not holding onto him, so he mostly crawls. He's pretty much into everything. Opening cupboards, getting into the toilet (oops), and eating everything off the ground. Vacuuming is a must every other day! He's a great eater, and still with only four teeth he can gum whatever!

I made Tygh put up our Christmas lights a little early this year, only because we leave on the 18th of December for California. So I wanted to enjoy them for at least a good month!. He wasn't to thrilled about it but he finally gave in! (Thanks sweetie!) They're a little tacky...but who cares. This is the first year we've put up lights outside of our house. I didn't get any pictures of Tygh putting them up, because it was really cold. So Tate and I watched from inside the doorway. They are definitely a hit with Tate. He loves any kind of lights but these especially! Lol- Here are a few pictures of what they look like. Not the best but its hard to take pictures of lights. Our snow flakes change colors!!

Halloween!

Halloween this year was a blast. We were in California, and Tate was actualy old enough to dress up and take out to a couple of houses. He was a dragon and his cousin Ben was a Pirate. They looked pretty cut together! Here's a couple pictures from the night.

For Halloween this year we went out to California, and spent the whole week! We had a great time. This year Tygh was able to take the whole week off also and come out with us. We went up to apple hill (and ate the best carmel apple, apple donuts and apple friters ever!!), hit all the malls, went put put golfing, and lots more fun stuff. It was a nice break and had wonderful weather! Here are a few pics from the week!

All Aboard!! Tate loves his new train. He wants to ride it pretty much all day long. Of course I get tired of pushing him, so he doesn't get to ride it all the time. If I put him on it and don't push him though he starts boucing and tries to go by himself. Unfortunately his feet are like an inch to short to push himself. Little bit longer and he'll be all over the place on that train!

We've been pretty busy this summer. We just moved to Rock Spring last week and are finally settling in and getting everything unpacked and put away. It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate in just two and half years of being married, Wow. It took us two loads to move but we did it. Good thing Rock Springs is only an hour and a half from Evanston. Last week my sister-in-laws Erin and Blythe came up to visit and to help put stuff away. It was so nice of them to come up and spend the day and show me around a little and hang out and let the kids play. We now have a two car garage and a backyard with a sprinker system! We let the little kids run through the sprinklers and since they didn't bring swimsuits its was in the underwear!! Lol-While the kids played in the sprinklers Tate was worn out so he was doing this...

Summer time!

I haven't blogged in almost a month....oh my! The other weekend it was pretty hot, so we headed over to my in-laws house for a little swimmin' and slippin' sliddin'. All our little nieces and nephews were there and it was so cute watching them play in the water. Tate had a good time just hanging out in the kiddie pool with his cousin Elora. She is the funniest kid ever! I have to tell a story about what she said to me a little while ago... All the family was together at Tom and Leanne's and I was holding Tate. Elora comes up to say hi and looks at Tate and say's "How big are his eyes" "He's funny," "How big are his eyes." We all know Tate has big beautiful eyes, but to little kids I guess they just look huge and funny lookin'. It was pretty cute, she was so concerned about them! Lol.
Now everytime she sees him she just kind of laughs and says "look at his eyes"!!!! I think it's so cute what little kids have to say. I can't wait until Tate starts talking and saying these cute little things. Here's osme pictures of Elora and Tate hanging out together in the pool.

Tate's got a six pack going on!

This is Zayden. I think he's ready to go again! What a cute little boy with a big heart, he loves babies and is so gentle with Tate! And here's madison. Funny story about Madison also. In a few days its her birthday, she'll be four years old. I was talking to her today about her birthday party and I asked her if she thought it would be ok if I didn't get her a present this year, (joking of course). She turns her head, looks at me and with sad concerned eyes say's, "Why". It was like she was wondering why on earth I would ever not get her a present! I think one of madie's favorite words is WHY? She always has a question for everything and is very very smart. She loves to talk and has the cutest little giggle, especially when she is laughing really hard!
I'm going to miss all my little neices and nephews, not seeing them almost everyday when we move, but we'll probably be back down visiting Evanston quite a bit! Only three more days until we move...guess I better get packing.

This year the Fourth of July was pretty low key. We spent the day over at Tygh's parents house having a bar-b-q and just hanging out. Tate loves being around all his cousins. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the fireworks this year, Tate was tired after a busy day (and so was I). Tygh and I could see the fireworks from our house so we got to catch a little of them! It was a fun day...looking forward to more when Tate actually understands whats going on!

It's been two years and one month now that I've lived in Wyoming. We spent seven months in Casper, Wy and the last year and a half here in Evanston. Wow time really does fly by. It's been an adventure for me changing environments drastically. I never knew I really didn't know the difference between an Elk and a Moose, or a billy goat and an antelope. I'll just keep those stories to myself! I've learned more about animals than I probably ever cared to know. I thought I got a sense of what the wind was like while going to school in Rexburg, but nope it can get worse! In the summer bug spray is the staple fragrance! And we have one stop shopping here in town...it's called walmart! It's been fun learning and experiencing new ways of life, but deep down I have to admit I'll always be a California Girl!
Now we have our little Tate who is such a little sweetie and the joy of our lives! I've decided it's probably a good thing we moved to Wyoming and I got to learn all about animals because Tate loves them and here he can experience them all first hand! His Grandpa Tom has a baby cow...Heffer....or Calf...(I've learned a little) who Tate got to help feed. He just loved it! It's so cute to watch him smile and talk to all the animals. His face in this next picture just shows how excited he his and how much he likes that cow!! (and my face you can tell I'm not to fond of it!)

We've loved being here in Evanston, but now it's time for a new chapter in life. We're off to Rock Springs, WY. Tygh took a new job with Encana Oil &Gas. We think it's going to really great! More training, experience, money, bigger company.....all things that will get us back to California quicker! Just kidding! Kinda.....It's been great for Tate to be so close to so many cousins but we won't be far away so we'll be visiting quit often!!

Visit from GG and Grandaddy

Last weekend we had a great visit from my grandma and Granddaddy. Grandma now goes by GG seeing as now she is a great grandma. They came up on friday and spent the night and had all day Saturday with us. Tate was being a ham for them just smiling for the camera! He also just learned a new trick that he showed off for them. We stand him on our legs, tell him to get ready...he bends his legs then we throw him up in the air, and he laughs like crazy! I think GG and Granddaddy may have been a bit nervous when we'd throw him up in the air, but I think they got over it. He had a really fun time with them, only wish they could have stayed longer.

On Sunday I noticed a little white spot on Tate's gum's as he was yawning. I quickly told myself it was nothing because for the past three months now I could swear to you that Tate has been teething and that I've seen these white spots before. But Monday morning when he yawned again I saw that his gum's were starting to break apart! I quickly felt his little gums and sure enough he really is finally getting a tooth. Today it looks a little swollen and feels pretty rough. Poor little guy always has something in his mouth. (Not really any different than before but now you can tell it bothers him). So any day now its going to pop up. I figure I'm never going to be able to get a picture of it because his tongue is always over his gums and he hardly lets me look at it, sothis picture is the best its going to get. I thought he kinda looks like Tate with the big eyes and most of his hair only down the middle! Lol-

So for all you coupon cutters out there this blog is for you. I was watching the news the other day and they were talking about the site shortcuts.com. Now I'm one of those people who always cuts the coupons out then go to the store and forget to give them to the cashier! Well this site solves all my problems. All you have to do is sign up (its free) then register your grocery store savings cards online. For me the only real grocery store we have here is Smith's. Then you go through and choose which coupons you want, it ads it to your card and the next time you go shopping give them your savings card and BAM your saving money! I like it because there are always coupons for diapers, wipes, baby food etc. It saves me a lot of time and money, and very simple to use. No more cutting my coupons!

I've been a slacker and haven't blogged for forever! This past month was pretty busy. We started it out with going up to Idaho to see my sister-in-laws new baby boy. What a cutie he is. It's amazing how fast you forget how small they were. Tate loved his three cute little girl cousins. They would sing to him and play with him and he's just laugh his head off. They were all pretty cute together.
The next weekend we took a trip to the Salt Lake City Zoo. Its was a pretty warm day and was pretty crowded but its a big zoo so it wasn't too bad. Tate seemed like he enjoyed it. He couldn't see too many of the animals, but was especially interested in the penguins! He was tuckered out by the end of the day!
The for memorial day weekend we were off to California for Laurens graduation. She's the last of the four to be done with High School and is off to BYU-Idaho in the fall. What is my mom going to do!!?? We had a great time out there just swimming, shopping, race car driving and just hanging out! Tate especially enjoyed spending time with his cousin Ben. They were to cute together, holding hands and hugging. Vacations are just never long enough!
And finally last weekend we took Tate to the Salt Lake City Aquarium. Tate loves fish. His grandma and Grandpa have a salt water tank in their home and I think he would stare at it all day if he could. So we thought taking him to the aquarium would be fun. And we were right he did love it. It was a fun day! And it's been a great month!

7 Month Photo Shot

The last few weeks have been pretty busy for us. It started with a week stay in Park City with my mom, then also my dad later in the week. We spent our time there shopping, swimming, taking Tate for walks, and just hanging out. Tate began quite the social butterfly with a lot of family in town for my cousin Brett's wedding. He wasn't quite sure of big crowds before the week but he warmed right up to it after about two days of being surrounded by new people. He definitely learned how to get his flirt on and make people smile at him!
After the week was up my mom came up with the crazy idea of Tate and I driving back to California with them and staying the week, since Tygh was going to be gone a couple days for work the next week. So I said why not. The drive was long, but Tate did well, and we finally made it there. It was a fun week seeing friends and just letting everyone else take care of Tate! Lol- While we were there Tate got some pictures taken, and he was being quite the ham! Just smiley and happy! They turned out to cute! Here are some of them....

Tygh and I for a change!

So all of my blogs lately have been about Tate, which is fine but I decided its time to put out an update about what Tygh and I have been up to! We've recently been to two Jazz games with our friends Malcolm and Denee. First they played the Celtics (which was an awesome game), and second they played the Suns (another good game but only at the very end). It was cool to see all the big Basketball stars..Kevin Garnett, Shaq, Steve Nash.....etc. The Celtics game we went to we were all the way up at the very very top, and I mean the very last row! hahaa. It was still a lot of fun.

The Suns game we got free tickets and were like 13 rows up from the court, it was sweet! We could see much better!If you look closely at the picture you can see Shaquille O'Neal. He's the one shooting the ball. It;s nice to get out of the house for a while and spend some time just with each other. So thanks to our baby sitters!! You know who you are!

We've also been trying some new recipes lately. Tygh got a book called Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for Easter from my mom. (If any of you have seen the show its on Food Network). We tried a burger out of it last night and WOW was it good! Here is a picture!

The recipe goes like this:
(Serves 3 people)
3 kaiser Rolls, or sough dough ( no hard rolls)
1 lb 80/20 ground beef
1 lb Shredded cheddar cheese
Lawry's seasoned salt
Ice cubes, crushed
optional- pickles, onion, tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, mustard

Directions:
1. Divide meat into 3 even sized patties, season with seasoned salt. Cook burgers to desired doneness on griddle or cast iron skillet.
2. Top the burgers with a handful of cheese (or more so it spills over the edges, but not to high on top). Then top each with a bun. Let the cheese melt a little bit, then sprinkle the crushed ice cubes around the cheese. Cover and cook until the cheese melts completely.

3. While the cheese melts, make up the bottom of the bun to your liking. Once the cheese melts into the skirt around the burger and browns on the bottom, place the burgers on the bottom of the buns, cheese and all. Then ENJOY!

Bath Time Fun!

Tate loves his bath time. The other day we put his bath toys in with him, and he just didn't know what to do he loved them so much. He would try to gather them all up in his arms all at once...unfortunately he couldn't really do it. If we didn't get him out he would probably stay in the tub all day! When he gets older I just know he's going to be a hard one to get out of the bath.
I decided 6 months is my favorite age....so far. Tate is such a little cutie, and has quite the personality. He loves to lay on our bed and snuggle into the covers, go under the covers and grab them and put them all over his face. Its so funny. His little laugh is the cutest, it makes my day when he giggles. His favorite thing is when you blow bubbles with some gum, then they pop, it cracks him up!! Its to cute.

St. Patrick's Day at the Folsom Zoo

Last Saturday Tate and I flew out to California to visit Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lauren, GiGi and Granddaddy. Tuesday was a beautiful day so we decided to take Tate to his first Zoo experience. He was a little angel, and seemed to enjoy it. He was looking around everywhere taking it all in. Sometimes it seemed like he was looking at the animals but probably was just enjoying the outside fresh air. After seeing lots of animal (including a dead deer, long story) we thought it would be fun to take Tate on the little train ride that goes around the zoo. By this time he was getting pretty tired but once the train started moving he loved it. Were almost positive once he can start to move on his own were going to have our hands full. He loves being outside, kicking his feet everywhere, and being in the water! Our Little Tot is growing so fastand wants to do more and more on his own. Like my granddaddy always said.."Were going to have to put a brick on his head to keep him from growing!"
